sovrn Releases Complete Header Bidding Suite

A full Suite of tools and technology gives publishers comprehensive options for auction in the header

BOULDER, Colo.--()--sovrn Holdings, Inc., advocate and partner to independent publishers who represent more than 80,000 websites, is today releasing the Header Suite to give these publishers a host of options to implement header bidding strategies.

There are a number of ways publishers can implement header bidding. sovrn’s Header Suite allows publishers to choose which solution is best for them based on their needs and expertise. The sovrn Header Suite consists of:

  • Header API - For publishers who have a custom implementation mediating the results or are using Google’s DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP) to settle the auction.
  • Header Adaptor - For publishers who want an adaptor for the Prebid.js open source code project. Adaptors for other mediation solutions are also available.
  • Header Code - Publishers who are using DFP to settle their header bidding auction can simply use sovrn’s meridian platform to create tags for use in DFP.
  • Header Complete - Available in January 2016, a complete, easy-to-implement solution, including mediation and third party integrations, all inside the meridian platform.

“Header bidding strategies put knowledge and control back in the hands of the publisher,” said Walter Knapp, CEO of sovrn. “The sovrn Header Suite gives publishers a comprehensive choice of options to quickly and easily capture more revenue with the added benefit of knowing the true value of their audience. By releasing a full suite of options for publishers, we’re helping them better understand their audience and make the money they deserve.”

Entertainment and lifestyle publisher Livingly Media recently implemented header bidding with sovrn. Their sovrn partnership has more than doubled in terms of daily revenue, while discrepancies have lowered to below 5%. “We’re really pleased with our decision to work with sovrn,” says Livingly Media CEO Danny Khatib. “They helped us realize the benefits of header bidding while minimizing the work involved.”

Curiosity Media has implemented sovrn’s Header API on the site SpanishDict.com. "We had previously attempted various optimizations such as segmenting our international inventory, playing with frequency caps, and resetting line item rates on a daily basis,” said Curiosity Media’s Ahmed Karim. “That didn't make a great deal of sense when dealing with a multitude of partners. We were left with a sense that we were basically chasing our tails. Header bidding has eliminated the need for all these optimizations. We no longer need passbacks and can avoid struggling with complex waterfalls. We've simplified and created significant lift in revenue."
