ProShares Names Richard Morris General Counsel

BETHESDA, Md.--()--ProShares, a premier provider of ETFs, today announced the appointment of Richard Morris as general counsel. He will report to ProShares Co-Founder and CEO Michael L. Sapir and serve on the company’s executive management team.

“Rich’s legal aptitude and his deep experience in the ETF industry make him a perfect fit for the general counsel position,” said Sapir. “His leadership will be important as we continue to develop innovative ETF solutions that meet the evolving needs of investors.”

Morris brings to ProShares more than 20 years of legal experience in asset management. Most recently, he served as partner at law firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP. Before that, Morris served as general counsel for WisdomTree Asset Management and was part of the core team that launched the ETF sponsor. Previously, he was a senior attorney for iShares, where he helped launch that family of ETFs, and was a staff attorney at the Securities Exchange Commission.

Morris holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center and a BS in accounting from St. John’s University.
