WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Scott Valley Bank continues to strengthen its Bay Area presence, announcing this week the hiring of commercial banking veterans Mark Grover and Rob Ways. This announcement comes on the heels of the addition last month of two more lenders in San Jose, including Market President René Kakebeen. Both Grover and Ways join Scott Valley Bank as vice president/relationship bankers.
With significant experience in the south bay and Peninsula, including several notable community banks, Grover, who joins the San Jose office, specializes in commercial lending as well as industrial and commercial real estate lending. Ways, who received his MBA from Santa Clara University and whose deep experience includes both leading national banks and niche specialties, brings with him a successful track record in a broad spectrum of complex commercial credits. He will be based in Walnut Creek.
“Mark is someone I have known for over 20 years,” Kakebeen said. “He has a well-deserved reputation as a commercial banker whose clients appreciate the value he brings to every opportunity and situation. His addition to the San Jose team speaks to our commitment to this market and to the businesses that make the economy here vibrant.”
Scott Valley Bank President and CEO Craig Van Selow called Rob Ways a “great complement to Scott Valley Bank’s East Bay team,” adding that the bank’s recent hires over the last several months will broaden the bank’s Bay Area reach.
“We are truly excited about the additions to our team over the last several months,” Van Selow said. “This expansion means that we are able to bring our unique brand of handcrafted banking to an even broader segment of commercial clients throughout the Bay Area; and we intend to do just that.”
