NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Levi & Korsinsky, LLP announces that it has commenced an investigation of Barrett Business Services Inc. (“Barrett” or the “Company”) (NASDAQGS: BBSI) concerning possible violations of federal securities laws by the Company and/or certain of its officers and directors.
On November 9, 2015, Barrett Business disclosed that it had received a letter from its independent registered public accounting firm, Moss Adams LLP, notifying Barrett that Moss Adams’ completed interim review of Barrett’s unaudited interim consolidated financial statements as of June 30, 2014 and for the periods then ended, can no longer be relied upon. The letter further noted that Moss Adams would not be in a position to complete its required review of Barrett’s quarterly financial statements at September 30, 2015 by the filing due date. Moss Adams also stated that it has become “aware of information indicating that an illegal act has or may have occurred with respect to BBSI’s workers’ compensation expense reserve as reported in the Form 10-Q filing as of June 30, 2014.” Upon this news, shares of Barrett were down more than 30% on intraday trading on November 10, 2015.
