by Hilton will recognize veterans and active duty members of the
military this Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, by inviting them
into any of the brand’s properties across the U.S. and Puerto Rico for a
free cookie – with or without a reservation – as a small token of our
gratitude.
As part of the brand’s global Cookie Care campaign, hotel team members will give thanks with a special Cookie Care event at the San Diego Veterans Day Parade from 11 AM – 1 PM, handing out cookies to parade onlookers and in a special grandstand reserved for veteran seating.
All day, veterans and DoubleTree by Hilton guests across the U.S. and Puerto Rico are invited to join the conversation by using #CookieCare on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@DoubleTree).
The initiative is part of DoubleTree by Hilton’s Cookie Care program, which celebrates the brand’s global commitment to delivering the “little things” that enhance guests’ travel experiences.
Hilton Worldwide has been strongly committed to supporting military veterans and their families since the company’s founding nearly a century ago by Conrad Hilton, a U.S. Army veteran himself. In August of 2013, Hilton Worldwide launched Operation: Opportunity, with a commitment to provide extensive support to United States military veterans and their families, including the hiring of 10,000 veterans and spouses by the end of 2018. Since the program launch, Hilton Worldwide has hired over 7,600 veterans and spouses. In partnership with the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, Hilton HHonors donated millions of rewards points that unemployed veterans can redeem for free hotel stays while seeking jobs, both within and outside the company. Hilton also offers a military family leisure discount across all brands.
