CompTIA’s Future Leaders Donate $5,000 to Hire Heroes USA on Behalf of Continuum Veterans Foundation

CompTIA’s Donation Helps Hire Heroes USA Assist Veterans and Spouses in Finding Civilian Jobs through Employment Training and Corporate Engagement

BOSTON--()--Continuum Veterans Foundation, helping returning troops find jobs in the IT industry, is pleased that Atlanta, Georgia-based Hire Heroes USA, an organization dedicated to creating job opportunities for U.S. military veterans and their spouses through employment training and corporate engagement, has received a $5,000 donation from CompTIA’s member community, Future Leaders. Nathan Teplow, a Future Leaders member and Senior Marketing Programs Manager at Continuum®, the sole donor to the Continuum Veterans Foundation, nominated Hire Heroes USA for the award. CompTIA is the IT industry’s trade association.

“The IT industry is an important employment channel for Hire Heroes USA, and since one of the goals of the Future Leaders Community is to attract new IT talent, the community’s goals and Hire Heroes’ mission coalesce,” said Nathan Teplow of Continuum. “Hire Heroes USA is doing great work and using donations very effectively to help veterans find good jobs and return to civilian life. Veterans are a great fit for IT jobs because of the skills they acquire during service – such as problem solving and teamwork. Any organization that helps bring new talent to IT and supports veterans represents a win-win.”

Hire Heroes USA helps veterans and their spouses to secure 60 confirmed new jobs each week by overcoming common barriers to employment. Services include helping veterans effectively demonstrate how military responsibilities are relevant to civilian job descriptions or market their leadership and knowledge in a resume and interviews.

CompTIA’s Future Leaders Community is focused on building best practices for embracing a multi-generational workplace, while also providing a platform for millennials to network and advance their careers in the IT channel.

Nathan Teplow was named a ChannelChanger by CompTIA in 2014, recognizing young entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of the IT channel and for early successes and relentless pursuit of excellence and originality. He was elected to CompTIA’s Future Leaders Community Executive Council earlier this year.

CompTIA’s Future Leaders also elected to give $5,000 to Humanitarian Toolbox.
