HONG KONG--()--MetLife Hong Kong*, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MetLife, Inc., #1 U.S. life insurer^, today announced its success in establishing an agency force with near 500 professionals within a year. Adding to this promising development is the official launch of “Go Goal Life”, a new and unique recruitment campaign that aims to attract Generation Y talent as MetLife Hong Kong strives to build Hong Kong’s leading agency force.

“Following our pledge last year to hire 1,500 agents in three years, we are thrilled by the remarkable growth of our agency team, which clearly attests to the success of our strategy in talent acquisition and development,” said Mr. Lennard Yong, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Hong Kong. “With 20 years of experience in Hong Kong and robust support from our corporate home office in the U.S., we will continue to strengthen and expand our distribution channels in our vision to refresh the way insurance is offered and to become the right partner for customers and the community.”

In the quest to accelerate the sustainable growth of its agency force, MetLife Hong Kong has launched “Go Goal Life”, an innovative and fun-filled recruitment program targeted at Generation Y talent. A series of recruitment days called “Go Goal Life Experience Day” was held from July to October this year, attracting over 400 people aged 20 – 35, including fresh college graduates. Shortlisted participants have been attending a series of workshops to equip themselves with knowledge in financial advising, as well as an extensive range of practical skills, such as emotional management, public speaking and future planning.

After these comprehensive training sessions, participants can gain “points” by completing creative assignments, developing client relationships, joining team-building activities and doing charity work. The top six winners with the most number of points will be announced in mid-2016, and each of them will be awarded HK$10,000, a Senior Relationship Manager contract, as well as an air ticket to the U.S. to take part in an ultimate test of stamina and business acumen in the style of famed Korean variety show “Running Man”.

Ms. Eva Wong, Chief Agency Officer of MetLife Hong Kong, said, “MetLife Hong Kong is committed to delivering the best quality service to customers, and we understand that this begins with our agents. With an emphasis on holistic personal development, our pioneering ‘Go Goal Life’ campaign represents a major milestone in our consistent effort to build our agency force and to groom the next generation of insurance professionals.”
