NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Volkswagen has expanded the list of vehicles in which it installed emissions defeat devices so that it could misrepresent to consumers that certain of its vehicles met air pollution standards set forth by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) when, in fact, the vehicles did not. This scheme further permitted Volkswagen to misrepresent their vehicles as meeting certain specifications and characteristics under normal driving conditions, when, in fact, the vehicles actual specifications differed once in compliance with air pollution standards.
The additional affected vehicles announced by Volkswagen as affected are as follows:
- VW Touareg (2014)
- Porsche Cayenne (2015)
- Audi A6 Quattro (2016)
- Audi A7 Quattro (2016)
- Audi A8 (2016)
- Audi A8L (2016)
- Audi Q5 (2016)
These vehicles are in addition to the following vehicles that Volkswagen acknowledged were affected by its scheme:
- Jetta CleanDiesel (model years 2009 – 2015)
- Jetta Sportswagen (model years 2009 – 2014)
- Beetle CleanDiesel (model years 2012 - 2015)
- Audi A3 TDI (model years 2010 - 2015)
- Golf CleanDiesel (model years 2010 - 2015)
- Passat CleanDiesel (model years 2012 - 2015)
