NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Academy Securities, a registered broker-dealer and certified Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise, today announced the addition of Quinten Stevens as its new Head of Equities and Equity Capital Markets. Mr. Stevens has also been appointed to Academy’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Stevens brings with him a wealth of experience having spent the last 29 years in the financial services industry, including senior management leadership positions in investment management, capital markets and investment banking.
Since 2010, Mr. Stevens has been Managing Partner of Stevens Asset Management and is the Chief Investment Officer. Stevens Asset Management manages a long short equity hedge fund. In conjunction with Mr. Stevens joining Academy Securities, Stevens Asset Management has made an investment in Academy Securities, furthering strengthening the firm’s capital base.

Prior to starting Stevens Asset Management, Mr. Stevens worked at Wachovia Securities. He was the Head of the Equity Division responsible for all of equity sales and trading, including the proprietary trading activities, as well as equity capital markets. He was also a member of the Operating Committee of the investment bank and helped manage the entire investment banking business of Wachovia Securities. Before Wachovia, Mr. Stevens was Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets at JP Morgan where he helped significantly grow JP Morgan’s market share of equity underwritings. Prior to joining JP Morgan, Mr. Stevens had worked at Citigroup Salomon Smith Barney where he held various senior roles in the equity capital markets and investment banking divisions.
Mr. Stevens is a graduate of the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
