BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The furniture industry continues to gather momentum as an e-commerce sector with all signs pointing toward a record holiday season for online sales. In addition to a very successful Labor Day, site visits and conversion rates trended upward through the third quarter, according to Blueport Commerce, the leading provider of e-commerce technology for the retail furniture industry.
Blueport today announced significant growth in sales by furniture retailers on its platform during the third quarter of 2015, with Q3 sales increasing by a record 126% over Q3 2014. The Q3 results further accelerate the significant growth the company posted in the first half of the year, where Q1 growth was up 41% to last year and Q2 was up 97% to last year.

A review of the combined average results of furniture retailers on the Blueport e-commerce platform — which include three of the top five North American furniture retailers — shows strong gains made during the quarter. Highlights include:
- Double and triple digit growth in sales every quarter this year over 2014: 41% in Q1, 97% in Q2 and 126% in Q3.
- 38% increase in online conversion rates during Q3 2015 compared to Q3 2014.
- 33% increase in revenue per visit over Q3 2014.
- Significant mobile growth with 50% of site visits coming through mobile in Q3, up nearly 20% over Q3 2014.
- 260% increase in cart adds over Q3 2014.
