Lands & Waters
Growing up on the Mississippi River, Pregracke experienced firsthand what pollution was doing to our nation’s rivers. Despite being 17 years old with no business experience, Pregracke secured his first sponsorship - $8,400. This helped fuel his passion for cleaning up America’s rivers. More than 20 years later, Pregracke’s dream has become a reality. Pregracke, his crew and more than 87,000 volunteers have collected 8.4 million pounds of debris from America’s rivers. Pregracke’s efforts have gained him worldwide recognition as CNN’s “Hero of the Year” in 2013 and the Jefferson Award in 2002.
