Will Newcomer to Speak at Stress Testing USA Conference

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Wolters Kluwer Financial Services announced today that Will Newcomer, vice president of product and strategy, U.S. Risk & Compliance, will speak at Stress Testing USA 2015: DFAST Edition, hosted by the Center for Financial Professionals on Oct. 27-28 in New York City.

Newcomer will be joined by co-presenter Brian Wyremski, quantitative risk modeling manager for New York-based Signature Bank. During their presentation, “Effectively Using Vendor Models and Ensuring They Work for the Portfolio,” on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 3:55 p.m. EDT, Newcomer and Wyremski will provide guidance on managing portfolio risk. In the session, the presenters will help attendees learn to evaluate vendor models to ensure appropriateness, target and assess model issues or errors, and determine strategies for dealing with uncertainties using only limited information.

“With so many factors to consider, determining the capabilities of vendor models can be a challenging process,” said Newcomer. “Wolters Kluwer Financial Services is committed to helping organizations integrate sound modeling practices into their strategic planning and business decision-making processes in order to effectively manage portfolio risk.”

Newcomer has 35 years’ experience in risk and finance with major and regional banks as well as leading technology firms. His extensive experience in enterprise-wide management information systems helps financial institutions in the areas of risk-adjusted performance management, budgeting and planning, asset liability management, incentive compensation, financial reporting and stress testing.
