NEM Convenes New England Energy Policy Summit

Energy Policy Officials, Suppliers and Technologists Discuss the Convergence of Energy, Telecom and Digital Technologies and the Benefits to Consumers

WASHINGTON--()--The National Energy Marketers Association (NEM) is pleased to announce that it will convene its first New England Energy Policy Summit in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 12-14, 2015. New England energy policy officials together with leading energy suppliers and distributed energy resource providers, technologists, and academicians will convene to discuss innovative, reliable and affordable ways to meet the current and future energy needs of both large and small energy consumers.

“The convergence of energy, telecommunications and digital technologies in competitive energy markets is set to bring a seismic change in the array of energy product and service offerings available to consumers as well as yield significant growth in consumer value. This phenomenon is driven by the demands of the increasingly mobile lifestyle of the modern consumer, coupled with the desire to empower and increasingly engage consumers in their energy purchasing and usage decisions. Consumers are also increasingly concerned with being good stewards of the environment. NEM is pleased that its members are on the cutting-edge of meeting these consumer demands and that they will share their valuable insights at the Summit,” said Craig Goodman, President of NEM.

“Our nation is also facing significant utility infrastructure constraints. Technology is the key to achieving a cost-effective, reliable upgrade to our energy delivery infrastructure. NEM’s New England Energy Policy Summit will gather a diverse group of policy officials, energy suppliers and technologists to identify innovative solutions to meet this “reliability gap” and how to forge an exciting, growth path that lies ahead for our industry,” said Goodman.
