HARMAN Appoints Rob Nail to Board of Directors

STAMFORD, Conn.--()--HARMAN International Industries, Incorporated (NYSE:HAR), the connected technologies company for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, announced today that Rob Nail has been appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors effective September 15, 2015, with the Board now comprised of 11 directors in total.

Nail is Chief Executive Officer and Associate Founder of Singularity University, the educational institution and business accelerator committed to creating positive global impact through exponential technologies. Since joining Singularity University in 2011, Nail has driven the organization’s growth and helped extend its reach and capability to educate, inspire and empower people all over the world.

Prior to joining Singularity University, Nail co-founded Velocity 11, developing automation equipment and robotics for cancer research and drug discovery. Following Velocity 11’s acquisition by Agilent Technologies, the global leader in life sciences, diagnostics and applied chemical markets, Nail served as General Manager for the Automation Solutions Division.

In addition to his role with Singularity University, Nail is Co-Founder and Director of Alite Designs, a San Francisco-based adventure gear company. He also serves as Director of Light & Motion, the leading California manufacturer of personal lighting systems and LED bike lights.
