iTalent Receives National Certifications as a Women’s Business Enterprise and MBE

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Fresh off the cusp of its new office opening in San Jose, California, iTalent, a leading global technology consulting services company, received national certifications as a Women’s Business Enterprise and MBE. Astra Women's Business Alliance Certification Committee, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) granted the certification and the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC) granted the MBE certification.

WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Astra Women's Business Alliance Certification Committee, is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

The MBE criteria for certification confirms that iTalent is a minority business that is at least 51% minority-owned operated and controlled. Ownership, in the case of a publicly-owned business, means that at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more minority group members.

Founded in 2005 and bootstrapped to profitability, iTalent is led by founder & CEO, Renee La Londe, who is of Hispanic decent. Renee is a Women 2.0 Founder to Watch and CRN Women of the Channel 2015 award winner. iTalent has partnerships with notable companies such as Jive Software, Box, Salesforce, Zendesk and Lithium and clients include eBay, Cisco, Yahoo, PayPal and LinkedIn.

The company has 200 employees with over 50% based in the Bay Area and the others dispersed through the U.S., parts of Europe and Asia Pacific. Out of the 200 employees, 56% of iTalent’s staff is composed of females, bucking the trend in IT and tech gender diversity.

“iTalent is thrilled to receive both the WBENC and NMSDC certifications,” said Margaret Sanchez, Director of WW Business Operations at iTalent. “Having these certifications provides a number of benefits to a woman and minority-owned business like ours as well as the corporations supporting supplier diversity. We look forward to partnering with WBENC, NMSDC, and their corporate members.”

By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations, and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.
