Attendees From Around the Globe Set for World Services Group Annual Meeting Hosted by Lowenstein Sandler in New York City

Advance poll shows attendees concerned about a weak economy and increased risks, among other issues

NEW YORK--()--Lowenstein Sandler LLP is hosting the 2015 Annual Meeting of the World Services Group (WSG) at the Waldorf Astoria on September 10 and 11. The annual meeting will host more than 150 delegates and guests and feature speakers from companies such as Google Ventures, IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG and The Estee Lauder Companies. WSG is a global network whose members are among the leading providers of legal and professional business services. The group includes 140 member firms operating in more than 115 countries and throughout the United States.

WSG and Lowenstein jointly conducted an advance poll of meeting participants to gauge their early views of the issues and topics the meeting will address. A weak economy and increasing regulatory environment were the respondents’ two biggest concerns for the next 12 months, followed by increasing competition and risks associated with the rising use of new technology and social media. More than half said cross-border transactions will increase in the next 12 months and 72% said there will be more M&A activity in 2016 than 2015.

As host, Lowenstein Sandler assembled a robust program of the top business and legal minds from the cyber security, cross-border M&A, and in-house legal realms. Rick Klau, a Partner with Google Ventures, will deliver the keynote address on technology trends at large global companies and insights from Google Ventures-backed startups, and what they mean for the global legal community. In addition to learning from the speakers, delegates will have a chance to learn about fellow attendees’ practice areas and specialties – connections that will serve clients well going forward.

“When we talk about relationships with preeminent attendees around the world, part of that is learning about people individually and about their firms,” said Lowenstein Chairman and Managing Partner Gary M. Wingens. “Conferences like this one allow the firms to get to know each other better and, ultimately, serve our clients better.”

Lowenstein Sandler will kick off the event with a cocktail reception showcasing its newly expanded and remodeled office space at 1251 Avenue of the Americas. The firm’s expanded reception and conference center – near Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall – was part of Lowenstein’s plan to double its square footage in New York to nearly 100,000 square feet in an effort to provide greater capabilities to its clients.
