SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--()--Greg Gudorf, a senior technology/marketing executive with a track record of success at such companies as Technicolor, Digeo and Sony Electronics, is joining Pure Flix Digital as CEO.

With the number of streaming video households in North America expected to reach 76.5 million by 2020 (an increase of 26 million from 2014) according to a Digital TV Research forecast, Gudorf will be responsible for directing and driving the anticipated growth of the new PureFlix.com subscription video-on-demand service.

The service, which launched earlier this summer, offers more than 2,500 full-length feature films, independent and educational films, kid’s animated titles, television series, documentaries and more for the entire family at home or on the go. Pure Flix Digital is currently available on Roku and via iOS and Google apps, for use on smart phones, tablets, laptops/PCs, or televisions.

“Greg’s technical experience in the video streaming space, along with his ability to successfully take new platforms and services to market, makes him a welcome and valuable addition to the Pure Flix family,” Pure Flix Founding Partner Michael Scott said. “We have ambitious plans to provide our faith-driven content to families anytime, anywhere and I’m confident Greg and his team will deliver.”

Before joining Pure Flix Digital, Gudorf served as COO of MGO.com , a premium digital streaming service and joint venture between Technicolor and DreamWorks Animation now serving several million consumers. Prior to that position, he was CEO at Digeo, a Paul Allen-owned company that introduced the Moxi® High Definition Digital Video Recorder, which allowed consumers to discover, enjoy and share HD content from their digital cable provider, PCs on the home network and the Internet.

At Sony Electronics, Gudorf and his team launched SonyStyle.com, the company’s first foray in audio/video online/retail sales. He was also responsible for marketing the company’s innovative televisions, which defined Sony as a brand for years.

Another former Sony Electronics executive, Brian Pancarik, is also joining Pure Flix Digital as vice president of operations and support. Pancarik will help drive the strategy and deployment of the company’s SVOD platform. He most recently was a senior product marketing and business manager at Sony Electronics, based in San Diego.
