Xplore Technologies Continues to Expand Engagement with One of the World’s Largest Airlines

Airline orders additional Xplore XC6 ultra-rugged tablets

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Xplore Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: XPLR), manufacturer of the world’s broadest range of high-quality rugged tablet computers, today announced it has received additional orders for its XC6 Windows tablet PCs from one of the world’s largest and most well-known airlines. The newest order is in addition to an order announced in December 2014 and is an expansion of the previously announced multi-million dollar project. The airline is using the tablets to supply the airline’s ground crews and expedite the baggage handling process at airports across the United States.

“Our airline customer is witnessing success with its program to put rugged tablets in the hands of its ground crews to ensure customers' baggage gets to the right destination,” said Philip S. Sassower, CEO and chairman of the board for Xplore Technologies. “With our ultra-rugged XC6 tablet PCs, we are confident that the airline will continue to make great strides in its enterprise rollout and we look forward to continuing to expand our relationship further.”

The airline, which operates multiple hubs and locations throughout the continental U.S. and across the globe, uses the Xplore ultra-rugged tablets, mounted in open-top vehicles operating outside in the elements 24 hours a day, year-round. The impressive computing power and its ability to operate in temperatures ranging from -34°F to 140°F makes the XC6 an ideal tablet solution for the extreme environments found on airport tarmacs.

The Xplore XC6 is certified MIL-STD-810G, rated dust and waterproof (IP67), and can withstand repeated seven-foot drops. The XC6 features the most advanced sunlight readable display, which is easy to read in direct sunlight. It also features glove-touch technology that enables use of the device with gloves on as well as when the screen is wet or dirty.
