CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Manish Tomar has joined Grant Thornton LLP as chief information officer, based in the firm’s Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., office. In this role, he will oversee Grant Thornton’s internal IT function and related programs.
Tomar has nearly 20 years of business and IT leadership experience, with a focus on transformation initiatives.

Tomar joins Grant Thornton from Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC), where he served for more than 10 years in various roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he was vice president and general manager for Application Services, with full profit and loss responsibility for a division of more than 15,000 people worldwide and nearly $2 billion in revenue, for which he successfully increased profitability and revenue growth. Previously, he also served as general manager of CSC’s Enterprise Testing Services business unit and as vice president of Financial Services.
Prior to his tenure at CSC, Tomar served for nearly a decade in consulting and management roles for APAC Customer Services Inc., now known as EGS Customer Care Inc., and for Rockwell Automation Inc.
Tomar received a master’s degree in business administration from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also a graduate of Cornell University’s executive leadership program.
