Inclement Weather Proven to Impact Streaming Audio Listening in Triton Digital’s June 2015 Ranker

St. Louis Listening Increases 16.8 Percent As Compared to May 2015

LOS ANGELES--()--Triton Digital®, a leading technology provider for the audio industry, today unveiled its monthly Ranker for June 2015, providing insights into listening trends measured by the Webcast Metrics® audience measurement platform. St. Louis showed the largest listening gain from May 2015 to June 2015 with a 16.8 percent increase in AAS (M-F 6A-8P), seemingly due to hazardous weather conditions that spawned a State of Emergency, including heavy rains and a tornado.

“The spike in listening during the St. Louis State of Emergency confirms that listeners are tuning in to streaming audio as a real-time, go-to news source,” said Rob Favre, General Manager and Chief Compliance Officer, Webcast Metrics. “With the accessibility of streaming audio on mobile, more and more people have instant access to local weather reports and emergency protocol announcements.”
