CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hundreds of enterprise IT professionals will celebrate SHARE’s 60th anniversary during SHARE in Orlando, August 9-14, 2015. The event will feature more than 500 top level educational sessions on relevant industry trends and issues.
Back in 1955, SHARE created the first-ever enterprise IT user group. SHARE will hold special celebrations throughout the week to mark the anniversary of this occasion, as well as thank those who have helped it remain a vital resource for professional growth and education in the industry.
SHARE has sponsored initiatives for professional development since its inception. The user group will continue this tradition at the event in Orlando, fostering connections among IT professionals, with four networking events throughout the week, including two gatherings with festive themes.
“One of the main benefits of SHARE is the opportunity to meet and network with people at every level of the industry. Rarely do those in our industry get the chance to mingle with such a diverse range of IT professionals,” said James Vincent, SHARE president.
Tom Rosamilia, Senior Vice President of IBM Systems at IBM Corporation, will kick off the keynote speeches August 10 with a discussion on the importance of driving leadership in the era of digitization, mobility and the Internet of Things. He will share how IBM systems are designed to meet these challenges, as they are future-made and uniquely positioned to help businesses maximize opportunities in the modern business landscape.
“Organizations cannot afford to ignore the digital transformation happening around the world. In order to stay at the forefront of any industry, it is imperative to work with systems that seamlessly facilitate digital business and position IT at the very center of business value creation,” Rosamilia said.
Attendees will also get to hear about recently declassified Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operations from Joseph W. Lambert, CIA Director of Information Management Services, during his keynote speech on August 11. Lambert will also share insight on how the federal unit is preparing to address the technical challenges that affect security in the industry, for the nation as well as individual enterprises.
SHARE in Orlando will be held at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort and is open to both Members and non-members. Visit SHARE.org for more information about registration and fees. One-day passes as well as group rates are available.
