Background of Investigation

On July 21, 2015, the FTC announced it had found that Lifelock violated a 2010 settlement with the agency and 35 state attorneys general by making deceptive claims about its identity theft protection services and failing to take steps required to protect its users. The FTC charged that despite the 2010 settlement, Lifelock continued to make false claims about its identity theft protection services.
