Florida Community Bank Aims to Benefit Veterans and Veteran Organizations with the Introduction of the FCB Stars & Stripes Account

WESTON, Fla.--()--Florida Community Bank President & Chief Executive Officer Kent S. Ellert announced today the introduction of a new FCB product specifically designed for the benefit of active military personnel and military veterans. This newly developed product, appropriately named the “Stars and Stripes Account,” provides a full roster of benefits to account holders. In addition, for every account opened in the month of July, FCB will make a $50.00 donation in the name of the account holder to organizations benefitting veterans and active duty military.

In making the announcement, Kent Ellert commented, “It is our privilege to launch the Stars & Stripes program for the benefit of active duty and veteran military in the communities we serve as a gesture of our support for their service to our nation.” He continued, “These men and women have put their lives at risk for their country and made great sacrifices to ensure our freedom. Assisting them financially with an opportunity to help reduce the cost of financial services is a way we can thank them for their service and we are proud to do so.”

The Stars & Stripes account is a full-featured, interest-bearing checking account and the monthly maintenance fee is waived by establishing a monthly recurring direct deposit relationship. The Stars & Stripes account includes the option to choose a military-themed or standard FCB VISA® Debit Card, internet and telephone banking, no cost eStatements and complimentary standard checks. The account requires a $100 opening deposit and also includes a 3x5 Safe Deposit box (subject to availability) with the fee waived for the first year and a 50% discount for every year thereafter.

Adding to the cost saving opportunities, Star & Stripes account holders will not be charged for Cashier’s Checks. FCB will also reimburse up to $20.00 per month in ATM fees and up to $25.00 per month in Wire Transfer fees.

Kent Ellert stated, “Our product development team put a lot of work into driving down the cost of banking services with this interest bearing account and we believe veterans and active military will enjoy the cost savings and benefits.”

Of equal importance, for every Stars & Stripes account opened in the month of July, FCB will make a $50.00 donation in the name of the account holder to any one of 12 service organizations benefitting veterans and active duty military. Kent Ellert stated, “These organizations work year round to help our military men and women and don’t always receive the financial support they need for their work. We believe bravery deserves to be rewarded and will “pay it forward” by making a monetary contribution in honor of our military men and women to organizations whose work assists our veteran and active duty military.”

The organizations eligible to receive $50.00 donations include the Affordable Homeownership Foundation of Lee County, United Way of Collier County (211 Fund), Wounded Warrior Project of Tampa, AmVets of Orlando, Volunteers of America – Winter Park, Florida, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc. - Lake Worth, Florida, Broward Housing Solutions- Broward County, Florida, 211 Broward Veterans Hotline, Switchboard of Miami – 211 Veterans Crisis Hotline and the Wounded Warriors of South Florida.
