Morrison Cohen LLP Announces David Kanfer Joins Firm as Partner

Firm Attracts Top Talent - 10 New Attorneys Join in 2015

NEW YORK--()--Morrison Cohen LLP announced today that David Kanfer has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Business Litigation Department.

Kanfer has broad experience in complex commercial matters, including contentious partnership and employment disputes, complicated real estate and construction-related matters, litigation involving investment advisors and private funds, and high-profile professional malpractice claims.

He has extensive experience in bench and jury trials as well as mediations, and has argued substantive and procedural motions before New York state courts and the federal courts that comprise the Second Circuit.

As a leader in his practice, Kanfer has contributed to the drafting and analysis of the commercial real estate litigation chapter of the multi-volume treatise, Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts.

Before joining Morrison Cohen, Kanfer was a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group of Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP.

“David is a highly experienced litigator who understands the importance of efficiently and commercially managing litigation in an effort to achieve a client’s particular business objectives,” said Morrison Cohen Chairman David Scherl. “His talents and approach to his practice are a perfect fit for Morrison Cohen, where we pride ourselves on providing pragmatic and commercial advice to our clients so that together we may help them achieve litigation outcomes that match their business’ goals.”

In addition to Kanfer, Morrison Cohen has hired nine attorneys – two senior counsels and seven associates – since the beginning of 2015, adding to its extraordinary team of legal professionals. This group reflects the firm’s tradition of hiring highly skilled lawyers from some of its largest and most respected law firm competitors.

“We continue to be successful in attracting the absolute top talent as they are drawn to our model, culture and commercial approach to our practice,” said Morrison Cohen Chairman David Scherl.
