Panasonic Advances K-12 Broadcast Offering and Showcases Connected Classroom at ISTE 2015

**Company announces partnership with JDL Horizons to enhance “Studio in a Box” offering**

**Booth 2400 highlights 3E 2-in-1 device, collaborative technology**

PHILADELPHIA--()--Panasonic, a leader in holistic technology solutions for the educational market, today announced a partnership with JDL Horizons to offer broadcast consulting for K-12 schools to help them maximize return on technology investment. The news was unveiled at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference, where Panasonic is showcasing its latest connected classroom technology at booth 2400, including interactive displays, classroom security solutions and its one-to-one product, the 3E (“Engage, Empower, Enable”) 2-in-1 student device.

“Students today face a more competitive future than ever before, with forces on the horizon ranging from job automation to overseas labor,” said Scott Thie, Vice President of Education, Panasonic System Communications Company of North America. “It is imperative that schools arm students with tools that promote digital literacy and collaboration, empowering them to adapt to whatever the future holds.”

Broadcast Consulting Services

The newly announced Panasonic partnership with broadcast consulting firm, JDL Horizons, will complement Panasonic’s suite of broadcast studio products, including its turnkey video production "Studio in a Box.” JDL will offer a range services through the partnership, such as studio design, studio setup and basic or advanced training, media production personal development training, and “Fundamentals for Live Broadcast Production Bootcamp.” On the front end, these consulting services will enable schools to save time and money, weeding out unnecessary or impractical equipment. Once the equipment has been designed and procured, the seasoned team of broadcast veterans can train both teachers and even students on the fundamentals of audio, video and broadcast design. The trainers can assist with topics that include basic camera layout, operation, lighting, sound equipment and shot compositions.

“While Panasonic makes world-class, well-designed products, any technology that isn’t properly understood or implemented properly can create waste,” said Thomas Lapping, CEO of JDL Horizons. “After training more than 2,000 students to produce and stream live broadcasts, we can understand that it takes a number of products that are integrated well to provide a complete solution.”

Added Thie, “We are seeing continued demand for career technical education (CTE) in K-12 schools. Our aim is to deliver products that can build skills which serve students when they graduate so they can enter the workforce with marketable expertise. JDL’s expertise and partnership helps us deliver on that aspiration.”
