Cognitive Networks Receives 2 New U.S. Patents for Techniques to Optimize Detection Speed and System Scale

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Cognitive Networks, the market-leading provider of real-time content recognition services on Smart TVs, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued the company patent numbers 9,055,335 and 9,055,309 for features that allow Cognitive to offer greater speed and scale to its customers.

The first patent is a system that utilizes Distance Associative Hashing, an algorithmic means of rapidly addressing a large cloud-based database through segmentation.

The second is for a Low Latency Video Segment Detector, which can detect an arbitrary length video segment and provide the means to accurately trigger synchronized events in distant TVs, precisely timed to the start of that segment.

“Our new patents show our competitive edge in the delivery of ACR services,” said Cognitive Networks Founder Zeev Neumeier. “Our patent for Distance Associative Hashing allows us to offer much greater scale in searching databases, while our Video Segment Detector patent is part of our methodology for ensuring rapid detection of specific content and triggering of related material. We’re always working to bring great efficiency to the interactive ecosystem.”

Cognitive Networks’ ACR technology facilitates the delivery of an integrated Enhanced TV experience for TV viewers by enabling contextually-related content to be displayed on Smart TVs in synchronization with related television programming. The viewing experience is enriched through more dynamic and engaging viewing capabilities.
