Yissum and ICL Expand Research Collaboration in the Area of Advanced Materials

JERUSALEM--()--Yissum Research Development Company Ltd., the Technology Transfer Company of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, announced today that it had signed multiple research and licensing agreements in the area of advanced materials with ICL (NYSE and TASE: ICL), a global manufacturer of products based on specialty minerals that fulfill essential needs of the world’s growing population in the agriculture, processed food and engineered materials markets.

The expanded collaboration includes a research agreement involving work in the field of materials and 3D printing of Prof. Shlomo Magdassi, the Casali Institute of Applied Chemistry, the Institute of Chemistry and the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the Hebrew University, as well as a research and license agreement for an invention in the field of solar energy by Dr. Lioz Etgar from the Institute of Chemistry at the Hebrew University.

These inventions join the on-going research collaboration between Yissum and ICL Innovation, ICL's technology incubator and ICL Industrial Products (ICL IP). The collaboration was established in 2014, in the field of sol-gel, researched by Prof. David Avnir, from the Institute of Chemistry. Under these agreements, ICL IP will have the option to purchase exclusive license to use any invention or product resulting from specific joint research endeavors.
