PLANO, Texas--()--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced recipients of its 2015 Tyler Public Sector Excellence awards for Eagle™, EnerGov™, Incode® and Tyler Public Safety™ local government software solutions at its national user conference, Connect, in Atlanta.

Tyler’s Excellence Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate excellence in deploying Tyler software in novel and impactful ways that extend best practices. Award submissions were evaluated by a panel of Tyler leadership and entries were judged on business value, maturity, innovation and relevance to other public sector organizations. Additional criteria met by award winners include:

  • Creating a unique process that utilizes a Tyler application
  • Realizing significant savings after implementing a Tyler product
  • Increasing staff productivity by implementing a Tyler product
  • Empowering employees, citizens or vendors

Tyler’s Eagle 2015 Excellence Award winner is Johnston County Register of Deeds, North Carolina. Johnston County is one of the oldest counties in North Carolina, with records that date back to the mid-1700s. The county implemented Eagle Web™ to preserve the integrity of its records while making them easily accessible to the public. Through Eagle Web, lawyers and users access Johnston County records dating back to 1746 from their own computers 24/7 without having to charge their customers for travel time to the county office — resulting in faster service and reduced fees.

Tyler’s EnerGov 2015 Excellence Award winner is the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cambridge’s Inspectional Services Department implemented EnerGov’s citizen access portal to reduce long lines, increase citizen transparency into processes, and provide faster services. More than 99 percent of the city’s permit and license applications are now received online. Cambridge is located one mile north of Boston and has more than 107,000 residents.

The Incode 2015 Excellence Award winner is the city of Hurst, Texas. Hurst received the award for using Incode Online™ to replace paper-based processes in its courts, thereby increasing revenue collection and decreasing long waiting lines. The city also created a QR code that is included on all court documents and citations for defendants to scan and immediately be directed to the online payments website. Hurst is located in the central portion of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and has an annual caseload of 23,000.

The city of Boerne, Texas, is the Tyler Public Safety 2015 Excellence Award winner. Boerne has leveraged Tyler Public Safety software to respond to calls in less than five minutes and decrease mobile costs by approximately 77 percent. The city uses iPad® tablets with Tyler Public Safety’s Mobile CAD (computer-aided dispatch) and RMS (record management system) applications, resulting in better in-field efficiencies. Boerne has a population of approximately 13,000 and has seen a 70 percent increase in population since 2000.

Tyler Excellence Award winners were honored on May 4 at the Connect 2015 user conference in Atlanta, where they were presented with the award and given the opportunity to share their best practices and lessons learned with their public sector peers.

“Tyler’s Public Sector Excellence Awards program is our chance to publicly recognize clients, like Johnston County Register of Deeds and the cities of Cambridge, Hurst and Boerne, who improve services and create value for taxpayers by using our software in impactful ways,” said Brett Cate, president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “We welcome the opportunity for our clients to share real-word successes with their peers at our yearly user conference. Congratulations to all of our Excellence Award winners.”
