HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RSI today announced the award of a substantial reservoir characterization project by PEMEX Exploration and Production in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. This service order is the first for RSI under the terms of the previously announced Framework Agreement with Pemex Procurement International, Inc. in Houston. The project will be executed at RSI’s offices in Villahermosa, Mexico and Houston, USA.
“We are very pleased to be able to begin work on this interesting project and look forward to integrating and interpreting a rich set of information, including modern seismic and CSEM data, within a rock physics framework,” said Richard Cooper, RSI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Our goal is to optimize the return on PEMEX’s considerable investment in seismic and CSEM 3D data.”
“This contract leverages RSI's extensive R&D investment, including the development of our well-driven integration of seismic technology, which is unique to RSI,” said Lucy MacGregor, RSI’s Chief Technology Officer. “RSI’s technology will provide PEMEX with fully integrated, rock physics driven results to significantly aid their exploration efforts.”
RSI is an independent geoscience consulting firm offering quantitative reservoir characterization with the goal of reducing exploration drilling risk and optimizing reservoir appraisal and development plans. The Company is an industry leader in the interpretation and integration of seismic data with well log, CSEM and MT data, and uses advanced rock physics methods combined with sophisticated geologic models to deliver robust and reliable predictions of reservoir geometries and properties to our customers.
