Android Pay™ is Coming to Discover Cardmembers

RIVERWOODS, Ill.--()--Discover cardmembers using Android 4.4 (KitKat) phones in the U.S. soon will be making contactless payments through Android Pay™, Google’s new mobile payment solution that will allow people to make purchases with their Android phones in-app or in stores.

“Discover’s goal is to provide our customers the freedom, options and simplicity of making mobile payments with whatever method they choose. Adding Android Pay expands Discover’s ability to enhance the convenience and experience for its mobile users,” said Heather Roche, vice president of rewards at Discover.

Pali Bhat, director of product management at Google, adds: "Mobile payments is a big priority for Google so we've been working with major networks and issuers like Discover to help provide a seamless experience across a wide range of phones and stores. Android Pay will offer people further simplicity, security and choice when paying for things with their Android phones."

When Discover cardmembers use Android Pay, they will continue to earn rewards and are never responsible for unauthorized purchases on their Discover card account.
