SKF is supplying Volkswagen with wheel hub and MacPherson suspension bearing units for the automaker’s Golf VII production in Puebla, Mexico. Deliveries started during the first quarter of 2015.

SKF is already supplying bearing units for the Golf VII across Europe and Asia. This new business extends the Group’s global collaboration with Volkswagen on the MQB Platform, to include North America.

Stephane Le-Mounier, President, Automotive Market says, “Volkswagen is one of our key strategic accounts and we are very pleased to extend our relationship with them. Our global footprint and focus on being close to our customers enables us to support Volkswagen wherever they produce their vehicles. We look forward to continuing to work with Volkswagen in developing solutions that contribute to comfortable, high performing vehicles.”

Located in close proximity to Volkswagen’s manufacturing site in the same city, SKF’s factory in Puebla, Mexico is able to offer just-in-time deliveries on short notice, whilst reducing the environmental impact associated with long delivery chains.
