BIO 2015 to Host an Evening Keynote with Wynton Marsalis

Leading Jazz Musician to share his insights about the correlation between artists and entrepreneurs

WASHINGTON--()--Today, the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced that Wynton Marsalis, legendary musician and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, will participate in the first-ever evening Keynote Wednesday, June 17th at the 2015 BIO International Convention®, where he will be interviewed by the legendary broadcast journalist Forrest Sawyer. BIO 2015 is the global event for biotechnology – and will take place June 15-18, 2015 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“We are thrilled to welcome such a legend like Wynton Marsalis - he is one of those rare individuals who can speak to the integration of the arts with business and innovation,” said BIO International Convention President Scott Whitaker. “Marsalis is at heart an entrepreneur, as are many of our attendees. Their shared experiences of creating new ideas, raising capital and persevering to bring an idea to fruition are sure to make for a truly unique BIO 2015 evening Keynote.”

Wynton Marsalis is the world’s first jazz artist to perform and compose across the full jazz spectrum from its New Orleans roots to bebop to modern jazz. By creating and performing an expansive range of brilliant new music for quartets to big bands, chamber music ensembles to symphony orchestras, tap dance to ballet, Wynton has expanded the vocabulary for jazz and created a vital body of work that places him among the world’s finest musicians and composers.

The event will be open to Convention Access and Partnering registrants.
