VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--()--Swimways Corp., a leading outdoor recreational products manufacturer and creator of the SwimWays® Swim Steps learn to swim product line, announced today the campaign for its fourth annual ‘National Learn to Swim Day,’ during National Water Safety Month on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Held on the third Saturday of May each year, National Learn to Swim Day provides the opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of water safety and teaching children how to swim as pools open across the U.S. for summer.

Swimways is collaborating with Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and its Aquatics team, to provide learn to swim videos for families on the National Learn to Swim Day online hub, teachmetoswim.com. Visitors to the website also have access to water safety tips, learn to swim resources and National Learn to Swim Day materials such as a downloadable swimming achievement certificate, an event poster, web banners, an infographic, an event hosting guide and coloring pages. Swimways’ 60 Swim Team ambassadors will also support the event by blogging about their children’s learn to swim progress and joining the hour-long National Learn to Swim Day Twitter party hosted by Mom Central on Friday, May 15 at 1 p.m. EDT.

The following Swimways retail partners will celebrate National Learn to Swim Day with the below promotions for their customers:

  • Toys R Us will be running a variety of promotions online and in store. The first promotion is buy one get one 40 percent off on learn to swim items May 3-9. Look for more learn to swim deals May 16-23 in the Toys R Us circular advertisements or by signing up for Toys R Us email.

The SwimWays Swim Steps line of products is a three-step learn to swim program that makes it easier for parents to keep kids afloat and teach them to swim at home. The first step of the program is designed to introduce babies to the water, with floats that comfortably support the child; step two products are for children who are ready to explore the water and build their confidence as they learn to balance and paddle; and step three products are designed to empower children as they perfect their swimming skills.
