NEW YORK & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BetterCloud, the leading provider of critical insights, automated management and intelligent data security for cloud office platforms, today announced expanded security and compliance monitoring capabilities for Office 365 through support for Microsoft’s new Office 365 Management Activity API, which Microsoft announced today at the RSA Conference. BetterCloud is one of a select number of partners that has had access to the API as part of a pre-release program. BetterCloud is using the APIs to allow IT professionals to analyze security and compliance-related events in greater depth through BetterCloud for Office 365, which the company released for public beta testing.
BetterCloud for Office 365 gives IT teams a 360-degree view of their organizations’ domains, makes it possible to audit activities across key areas, and surfaces security risks, performance optimizations, and best practices – all from a comprehensive dashboard. The product’s Domain Health and Insight Center helps IT administrators gain critical insights about user activity across their domain, and customizable alerts tell them when they need to take action. Then BetterCloud gives them the tools to automate those tasks.
“Supporting Microsoft’s new Office 365 Management Activity APIs shows how we’re rapidly broadening our alerting and monitoring capabilities for Office 365 tenants and helping our users see the complete picture,” said Michael Tweddle, BetterCloud Chief Strategy Officer. “We look forward to analyzing activities across the major areas of Office 365 and using correlations to generate even more intelligent alerts.”
“For example, we’ll no longer just be looking at externally shared SharePoint sites, but rather the entire sequence of events from changes in sharing settings, to any anomalous login activity within the same timeframe, including which documents were downloaded, and how many times, and other events that could help us make more intelligent recommendations."
“The Office 365 Management Activity API will enable solutions that provide Office 365 customers with greater visibility into activities happening across their Office 365 service,” said Nagesh Pabbisetty, Partner Group Program Manager, Office 365 Information Protection, Microsoft. “We look forward to seeing the solutions BetterCloud develops with the API to provide IT with more transparency and control over Office 365 tenants, which is important for adoption.”
More than 50,000 organizations and 32 million users manage, secure and report on cloud office instances through BetterCloud. The public beta version of BetterCloud for Office 365 is now available for installation.
