CEO Honored Among 13 of “Those Who Support and Inspire Women in Philadelphia”

JENKINTOWN, Pa.--()--National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) announced today its CEO and lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice, Eileen Heisman, has been named The Rad Award’s 2015 “Educator of the Year.”

The awards were presented Saturday to local leaders who inspire women in the fields of technology, media, culture and business, in celebration of Philly Tech Week by the digital platform Rad Girls.

“I am so proud of the meaningful impact each Rad Award honoree has made here and around the country; Eileen’s contribution to the Philly community is prolific,” said Leah R. Kauffman, founder of Rad Girls. “She recognizes the power she has to positively impact women and we were thrilled to name her ‘Educator of the Year’.”

A closed committee of Philadelphia’s influencers named The Rad Award 2015 honorees. Forty local women and men were nominated in 13 Rad Award categories, including Technologist of the Year, NonProfit of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year.

“What a great honor. I love my teaching at Penn,” said Heisman. “It is how I ‘pay it forward.’ I hope to empower my students early in their careers to work faster, better and smarter -- and hopefully make the nonprofit sector more effective.”
