Sizzler Viral Video Throwback Continues with Two Dinners and Salad Bars for $19.91

Chain making $19,910 donation to No Kid Hungry; asks guests to help, too

Fans also asked to share favorite pictures from the ‘90s

MISSION VIEJO, Calif.--()--Sizzler is saying thanks to the millions of Americans who made its vintage 1991 promotional video an Internet sensation. For a limited time, two people can feast on classic Malibu Chicken entrées with Sizzler’s signature 50+ item Salad Bar for only $19.91. The promotion is available at participating U.S. locations until May 3, 2015. Use #1991Sizzler or visit Sizzler on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to get this coupon.

“We’ve been amazed by the response from our loyal guests, but we’ve also learned that a lot of people have an outdated perception of Sizzler,” said president and CEO Kerry Kramp. “Just like the country, Sizzler has changed a lot in the last 24 years, and we’re a very different restaurant today than some people remember.”

Kramp added, “We want everyone – especially people who have not been here for a while or who have never visited – to enjoy quality steaks and salmon that are cut fresh in-house, amazing scratch soups and salads made in each restaurant’s kitchen, and of course, classics like Malibu Chicken and Cheese Toast.”

Sizzler, which dropped the Buffet Court years ago, also is making a $19,910 contribution to No Kid Hungry, its partner in alleviating childhood hunger. Anyone can help No Kid Hungry by donating here.

Sizzler fans can join in the fun by sharing their favorite photos from the 1990’s on social media using #1991Sizzler. The best will be featured on Sizzler’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram page.

The 1991 video, produced to sell franchises and shown at its annual meeting, unexpectedly went viral last week after a writer for Esquire Magazine saw it on YouTube. The video, originally uploaded by Rachel Redhouse, who rides a scooter in the epic production, quickly surpassed 1 million views via links posted on such major media sites as USA Today, The New York Post, E! Online, People Magazine and The Huffington Post. For two days, it trended on Facebook. Good Morning America anchors even reminisced with their own ‘90s photos, while enjoying Cheese Toast provided by the New York Sizzler franchisee.
