Zenger Folkman Holds Public Coaching Symposium and Certification

SALT LAKE CITY--()--Highly effective coaches have the potential to significantly increase the productivity and effectiveness of those they coach. By providing leaders with new skills and frameworks for growing and developing others, leaders can effect profound improvement in their organizations. Zenger Folkman will hold their Coaching Symposium and Certification in Minneapolis, Minn. on May 12-14, 2015.

How much of a difference does good coaching make? Zenger Folkman studied the impact of leaders who increased their coaching effectiveness. They found a huge difference in the results produced by leaders who had the best coaching skills:

- 8 times higher levels of employee engagement and commitment

- Over 3 times more willingness to “go the extra mile” for the team or organization

- 2.5 times higher levels of job satisfaction

- 2 times higher ratings of supervisor effectiveness

- Half as many employees thinking about quitting

During days one and two, participants will attend the following workshops: The Extraordinary CoachTM, Elevating FeedbackTM and Developing Yourself as a CoachTM. Experienced facilitators who wish to deliver The Extraordinary CoachTM Workshop inside their own organizations can stay the third day for the Facilitator Certification Workshop.

Jack Zenger, a world-renowned behavioral scientist, author and premier authority on leadership development, will deliver these workshops. Kathleen Stinnett, a senior consultant, acclaimed executive coach and co-author of the book, The Extraordinary Coach, will join Jack to co-deliver.

Giving effective feedback and coaching is a valuable skill and many leaders struggle to do it well. Jack Zenger, CEO of Zenger Folkman, said, ‘Most people like to hear positive input about themselves and their performance. Redirecting feedback, on the other hand, is even more valuable. When delivered with skill, corrective feedback can act like a powerful medicine that cures, however, it can do harm if not done well. Because of that, most managers are cautious to give it, and the combination causes it be in short supply, despite the critical need.”
