RADNOR, Pa.--()--PECO, Two Liberty Place, Wells Fargo Center, CBS-Philly and the Kimmel Center are a few Philadelphia landmarks lit blue for Autism Awareness Day. These buildings join a list of over 15,000 iconic structures, buildings and landmarks in more than 600 U.S. cities and 50 countries around the world that shown a bright light on Autism as a growing public health crisis, including most recently the Radnor Corporate Center where Mid-Atlantic tax firm, Global Tax Management (GTM), joined in support of this noble cause.

“The world came together with one strong voice through Light It Up Blue,” said Brett Spitale, executive director for the Greater PA Chapter of Autism Speaks. “Together, with the support of charitable business leaders like GTM, we can spread a message of compassion, understanding and hope for the global autism community. For the last seven years, GTM employees and executives have generously devoted time, talent and treasure to the cause, supporting comprehensive strategies that address the needs of those struggling with this challenging disorder.”

GTM is a devoted corporate leader for Autism Speaks in the Greater Philadelphia area. Raising more than $146,000 since 2008, the firm’s employees are highly involved as committee members, as a walk team, and as volunteers, fundraisers, and advocates. On April 12, 2015, GTM received multiple recognition awards at the 2014 Walk Now for Autism Speaks Philadelphia awards program for their outstanding support, including the Platinum Fundraiser Award and the 2014 Spirit Award.

“Autism costs the U.S. $126 billion dollars each year, and affects an estimated 1 in 68 children, but receives less than 5 percent of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases,” said Dave Laurinaitis, GTM’s President and Managing Director. “We started our support of Autism Speaks because of a personal story from one of our employees that touched our hearts, and we continue to rally for every child we see at Walk Day and every family that our donation helps through their lifelong journey on the spectrum.”
