Retailers, Brands and Agencies Explore the Future at HookLogic’s Ecommerce Media Forum

LONDON--()--Several of the nation’s largest retailers, brand advertisers, and media agencies met last month at the first annual Ecommerce Media Forum in London, hosted by HookLogic, to discuss the growing role of ecommerce sites as media properties.

These digital experts work with companies like HookLogic to serve as leading media partners for the brands they sell. The Forum is a meeting place for the large and growing retailer, agency, and brand teams focused on driving more revenue in a new age of digital media to all work together.

“An event like this offers a rare opportunity to connect with others responsible for driving digital sales revenue. There is a great deal of commonality in our goals, as well as our challenges,” said Barbara Johnson, Online Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola Enterprises. “The Forum offered the chance to engage in-depth on this rapidly evolving industry.”

Highlights of the Forum included a session exploring the challenges and opportunities related to the monetisation of the ecommerce space, featuring direct insights from ecommerce heads at top retailers and industry perspectives from Kantar Retail. John Roswech, the discussion moderator and HookLogic’s CRO, noted “As the owners of the richest consumer data and in-market shopping audiences, retailers are quickly becoming some of the most important digital media publishers.”

This session was followed by a panel discussion with digital experts from both the brand and agency sides, including Coca-Cola, Danone, iProspect and Dentsu Aegis Network, sharing their perspectives on ecommerce as a media vehicle. Panelist Richard Lamb, Vice President of Search for iProspect shared his enthusiasm for technology like HookLogic offers: “The level of insight coming from search marketing today is huge. We are getting real data about what people are actually doing versus what they say they’re doing.”

Among the leading brands, retailers and agencies in attendance were Philips, Diageo, Hasbro, Boots, Waitrose, and Warburtons. Executives from iProspect, MEC, Mindshare, Havas, Ogilvy and many other leading agencies also participated.

“Given the success of our four-year running Ecommerce Forum in the US and the rapid growth of our international business, it made a lot of sense to host an event in London this year,” said HookLogic CEO Jonathan Opdyke. “We look forward to many more years of successful European forums where we can provide retailers, brands, and agencies an opportunity to discuss and debate ways to further accelerate the growth of this burgeoning segment of the digital media industry.”
