PlumChoice Executive Selected as Panelist for CABA Intelligent Buildings & Digital Home Forum

Paul Weichselbaum to Discuss “Internet of Things and Smart Homes – The Need for Interoperability” on April 15

LOWELL, Mass.--()--PlumChoice, Inc., the leader in specialized technical services for the Internet of Things and cloud applications, today announced that Executive Vice President Paul Weichselbaum will speak at the upcoming CABA Intelligent Buildings & Digital Home Forum taking place from April 14 to 16 at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin, Texas. Weichselbaum will participate in the interactive panel session, “Internet of Things and Smart Homes - The Need for Interoperability,” on Wednesday, April 15 at 9 a.m. CT.

Moderated by Chris Wildfoerster, president of JBD, the panel session will unite leading industry experts who will discuss how smart home and IoT innovations have evolved into data-centric, multi-purpose devices that are inserted into complex, heterogeneous home and small business networked environments.

According to Business Insider Intelligence Research, global connected-home device shipments will grow at a compound annual rate of 67 percent over the next five years and will represent 25 percent of shipments within the broader IoT category. With the explosion of smart home devices comes increasing challenges, complexities and a need for standardization. The panelists will explore this technology ecosystem that has drastically evolved and become more dynamic, diverse, interconnected and mobile over time.

“The promises of smart home and IoT technologies are convenience, control and simplicity,” said Weichselbaum. “However, implementation and integration challenges are increasing as we continue to add devices to our already crowded ‘personal technology envelopes.’ Support and service models that enable seamless end-user adoption will be imperative if the Internet of Things is to fulfill its potential. I look forward to joining this conversation about the future of the smart home industry and how we can build a more evolved ecosystem that delivers on the promise of the IoT.”
