Research and Markets: Global Medium/Heavy-Duty OEM Trucks 2014-2019: World Market Research of the Industry, Competitors & Opportunities

DUBLIN--()--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/4hsh3s/global) has announced the addition of the "Global Medium/Heavy-Duty OEM Trucks 2014 - 201: World Market Research of the Industry, Competitors & Opportunities" report to their offering.

This report provides a detailed analysis of the global market for medium-and heavy-duty trucks and a comprehensive analysis of the 13 leading companies producing these vehicles, as well as the competitive environment in which they operate.

Truck manufacturers divide trucks into eight classes according to gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). This report focuses only on medium-and heavy-duty trucks, i.e. Classes 4 through 8 (GVWR of 14,001 lbs. and up).

The global market for medium-and heavy-duty trucks is large and is growing rapidly. With the exception of 2012, the global medium-and heavy-duty truck market has grown at a strong rate in both value and volume terms. Production in 2014 is estimated at 4.69 million units, worth over USD230 billion. Production grew at a CAGR (compounded annual growth rate) of 8.8% in volume and 9.9% in value between 2009 and 2013 and is forecast to rise annually 6.7% in volume and 9.1% in value through 2019.

In addition to analysis on overall global truck production, regional analysis is also offered: Asia-Pacific, with a special section on China; NAFTA, with production data on the US, Canada and Mexico; Europe, with Western Europe specifically addressed; and the rest of the world (ROW), with separate sections on Japan, India, Brazil and Russia.

The Asia-Pacific region is the largest producer of medium-and heavy-duty trucks, accounting for an estimated 48% of production value in 2014. However, the NAFTA region is forecast to show the highest growth rate during the 2014-2019 period, 13% annually. Growth will be much lower during this period in the Asia-Pacific region (CAGR of 8.3%), Europe (7.6%) and the ROW (6.6%).

China is the world's largest producer of medium-and heavy-duty trucks. Production is estimated at 1.23 million units, worth USD69.3 billion in 2014. Lower engine emission standards in China have prevented the Chinese truck makers from competing on a level playing field with the leading international truck producers, prohibiting Chinese truck makers from entering developed markets. As the domestic market increasingly becoming mature, the leading truck producers are expanding their sales network overseas. And as China gradually rolls out the National IV Emission standard, additional opportunities will be available to the leading truck producers.
