Inaugural Container Days Unconference Launches in Austin

March 27-28th Event Will Cater to Developers & Leading Virtualization Experts

AUSTIN, Texas--()--StackEngine, the platform that gives organizations the power to simply and massively deploy, manage, and scale resilient Docker applications, today announced in collaboration with several co-sponsors the inaugural Container Days unconference. The DevOps focused event will take place on March 27th and 28th, where industry leaders and fledgling container adopters alike will gather to discuss the evolution of Docker, CoreOS and other lightweight virtualization technologies and their applications.

Patterned closely after CitCon and DevOps Days, the event is also sponsored by CoreOS, Glider Labs, New Iron, Thoughtworks, Flux7, Blue Box, Altoros and W2O Group.

 

WHAT:

Container Days, an unconference for everyone interested in the technical, process and production ramifications of adopting container-style virtualization.

 

WHO:

Speakers include:

  • Brian 'Redbeard' Harrington, principal architect at CoreOS who will be talking about CoreOS and Rocket
  • Gabriel Monroy, the creator of Deis and the CTO at OpDemand, who will talk about the components and layers of a container ecosystem
  • Sponsor Altoros is hosting a Containers 101 workshop for free during the day on Friday at 9:00 a.m. before the unconference begins at 6:00 p.m. In it, CloudCamp Co-Founder Dave Nielsen will assist attendees with command line Docker interaction, the Dockerfile and building their own operational containers.

Tickets for Container Days are available online for $75 while supplies last. Event attendance is capped at 150 and ticket prices for the final 25 ticket buyers increase to $90. A free Containers 101 workshop will be sponsored by Altoros at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and delivered by CloudCamp Co-Founder Dave Nielsen.
