CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Pennsylvania metro regions saw an 11.2% increase year over year in high value private projects, and an increase of almost 14% year over year in total project value.
BidClerk data shows that Pennsylvania’s major metro regions saw more than 5,900 new construction projects released for bid in 2014. Projects in 2014 recorded a total contract value of more than $16 billion compared to $14 billion in 2013.
Nationally, BidClerk reported on 162,000 commercial construction projects valued at $455 billion in 2014. BidClerk saw an increase in the total contract values of more than $175 billion compared to 2013. These figures include both public and private work and represent the aggregate value of actively bidding commercial construction contract opportunities available in BidClerk's database.
In Philadelphia, there were more than 3,300 projects released for bid in 2014, with a total value of $5.7 billion.
For 2014, one project of note is the $20 million Street at the Meadows, currently being built by Dynamic Building Corp. The project was designed by Omni Associates and developed by Dev: Horizon Properties.
In Pittsburgh, there were more than 1,400 projects put out for bid in 2014, with a total value of over $3 billion.
