CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In Chicago, BidClerk reported an 11.85% increase in total projects, an 18.5% increase in private projects, and an increase in total project value from 2013 to 2014.
BidClerk data showed that Illinois’ major metro regions saw more than 8,100 new construction projects released for bid in 2014. The total value of those projects was more than $21 billion. This compares to a total contract value of more than $11 billion that BidClerk reported in 2013.
Nationally, BidClerk reported on 162,000 commercial construction projects valued at $455 billion in 2014. BidClerk saw an increase in the total contract values of more than $175 billion compared to 2013. These figures include both public and private work and represent the aggregate value of actively bidding commercial construction contract opportunities available in BidClerk's database.
For the Chicago MSA region, BidClerk data showed there were more than 4,200 new construction projects released for bid in 2014. The contracts were valued at more than $6.6 billion.
One project of note is the $55 million Vue53 Mixed-Use project. The general contractor is James McHugh Construction and the project was designed by Valerio Dewalt Train Associates. The developer on the project is Mesa Development, LLC.
