Fractal Antenna Innovation Assures Rock Not Rocky

BEDFORD, Mass.--()--Reaching a 60th Birthday is a significant milestone in itself. But for Fractal Antenna Systems’ CEO Nathan Cohen, celebrating his 60th was made even more special when he found himself surrounded by fractal antenna innovations.

“Going to the airport, I saw HDTV fractal antennas, homemade by makers, including school children, who have embraced my technology by the hundreds of thousands. Next, I saw fractal DAS antennas at the terminals, and then WiFi enabling fractal antennas on the jet. Vegas-bound, I saw more of my fractal antennas in the restaurants and casinos. But the real high was catching Elton John‘s rock concert--with wireless sound enabled by my fractal antennas.”

The concert antenna system was part of sound services firm Clair Global’s meticulous attention to sound perfection. The CF 1090 fractal antenna assures that wireless microphones are picked up from afar without any glitches. “Making sure there are no singer dropouts is a huge challenge in stage design. No one wants a rock performance on the rocks," noted Cohen.

“Other wireless microphone pickup antennas look like huge Sci-Fi props, potato cannons or giant eyeballs. But the Clair-Fractal CF 1090 is a small pizza box in size and is unobtrusive. It has a fantastic range and I had to look hard to find it. The CF 1090 antennas have worked flawlessly now for 3 years, and are highly sought after in sound services, much like old German microphones in recording studios.”

Enjoying his birthday surprise, Cohen’s highlight was Elton John’s ‘I’m Still Standing’. “That’s the unofficial anthem of many innovators," added Cohen, “Knowing it was made possible by determination in innovation on the tortuous path was a perfect thrill on a memorable day. No innovator can ask for more.”
