SIA Presented on the Blended Workforce at PeopleFluent Global User Conference WISDOM 2015

Vice President Bryan Peña Led Breakout Discussion on the Challenges and Opportunities to Executing a Total Talent Strategy

WALTHAM, Mass.--()--PeopleFluent®, a leading human capital management technology company, today announced discussion highlights from the company’s global user conference WISDOM 2015 general session “Challenges and Opportunities Executing a Total Talent Strategy,” featuring Contingent Workforce Strategies and Research Vice President Bryan Peña at Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA). Peña presented research on how companies are evolving their approach to talent management in today’s new landscape, which is populated by a nearly 50 percent contingent workforce. His discussion also featured opportunities for forward-thinking talent management planning, given that data also shows that as much as 40 percent of these resources are converting to full-time status.

During the interactive session, Peña challenged attendees to change the way they think about their contingent workforce. He presented research that showed how traditionally the contingent workforce has helped fill the peaks in workforce demand. According to SIA research, 28 percent of buyers are hiring contingents because they can’t find qualified full-time workers. He also noted the need for learning management systems as OSHA inspections were up 322 percent in 2014 due to the abundance of accidents with temporary workers resulting from a lack of safety and other training.

SIA Vice President Bryan Peña is internationally recognized as the expert on contingent workforce management strategies and tactics. An accomplished speaker and presenter, Peña’s specific expertise comes from over a decade of strategic sourcing experience in Fortune 500 companies and includes services pricing and negotiation strategies, contract construction, risk management, and international MSP and VMS program delivery models.
