TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Michelle Gervais has joined the Firm as a Partner in the Consumer Finance group in the Firm’s Tampa office. Ms. Gervais has a diverse practice, with a particular focus on the representation of large national and international banks, as well as subprime mortgage lenders, in claims relating to residential mortgage loan interests, contested foreclosure and servicing issues, in addition to credit card litigation, leasing, and class action defense cases throughout the country. She joins Blank Rome from Duane Morris LLP, and reunites with four of her former colleagues who recently launched Blank Rome’s Pittsburgh office.

Aside from her work with banks and lenders, Ms. Gervais has significant experience handling a variety of real estate, matrimonial, and commercial litigation matters. She has represented celebrities and athletes in high net worth matrimonial matters, families and estates in domestic and corporate litigation, and various companies in real estate transactions, corporate fraud, and other business disputes.

At her prior firm, Ms. Gervais served as the Women’s Initiative Programming Chair for the South Florida offices, and Pro Bono Chair for the Miami office. Passionate about pro bono work, Ms. Gervais concentrates her efforts on representing children and victims of domestic violence. For such efforts, she received the Dade County Bar Association’s commendation for long-term dedication to the pro bono community. Ms. Gervais is also active in the South Florida legal community, sitting on the Miami-Dade Legal Aid Advisory Board, and acting as its Committee Chair for law firm engagement.
Ms. Gervais received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and her B.S. from Central Michigan University.
