Pica8 Boasts Industry-Leading Hardware Partner Ecosystem

Original Manufacturers and Integrators Offer the Broadest Choice in SDN-Ready White Box Switching Solutions

PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--Pica8®, Inc., the software-defined networking (SDN) white box leader, today announced that it has the broadest portfolio of Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) and integrators in the white box switching industry. In all, Pica8’s ecosystem of ODM and integrator partners include Accton / Edge-Core, Alpha / Netmag, Celestica, Foxconn, Interface Masters, Inventec, and Quanta. This supports Pica8’s philosophy of choice and flexibility for customers. As new customer needs emerge, the list will continue to expand making it easier than ever for customers to adopt white box switching.

Pica8 offers PicOS, the first white box-compatible network operating system (OS) that enables customers to seamlessly integrate conventional networking with SDN. PicOS supports standards-based switching and routing protocols and delivers SDN solutions through its adoption of Open-vSwitch (OVS). Pica8 has qualified PicOS to run on OCP-compliant hardware.

"With the largest partner ecosystem, Pica8 leads at driving the flexibility and choice that are the hallmarks of software-defined networking," said Niraj Jain, vice president of business development, Pica8. “With innovations like CrossFlow Networking, Pica8 allows network managers with traditional Cisco / Juniper background to support Layer-2 / Layer-3 networking and smoothly integrate SDN applications for situations that would be too difficult to support with traditional Layer-2 / Layer-3 networking. We continue to expand our ecosystem to give our customers confidence that they can build custom solutions using white box hardware and PicOS as the foundation."

About Pica8, Inc.

Pica8 is the white box SDN leader. Since 2009, Pica8 has pioneered open networking with PicOS™, the first network operating system that enables customers to easily migrate from conventional networking to software-defined networking (SDN) using commodity white box switches. PicOS enables SDN through an Industry standard CLI, unmodified Linux, and OpenFlow 1.4 through OVS 2.0. Pica8 can provide PicOS, switching hardware or both in a fully integrated package as part of an end-to-end data center SDN solution, and makes adopting SDN easy with a Starter Kit that enables deployment in hours rather than months.
