COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Roetzel is pleased to announce the appointment of James L. Ervin, Jr. as partner-in-charge of the law firm’s Columbus office, effective March 1, 2015. Mr. Ervin succeeds Erika L. Haupt.

Mr. Ervin concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate compliance and regulatory enforcement, complex business litigation, and public law. He has extensive experience in defending and advocating for clients before all courts, administrative agencies and regulatory bodies that have legal jurisdiction, civil and/or criminal enforcement powers, and/or regulatory oversight. He works with clients to develop, train, and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance, and when necessary, he serves as their advocate in responding to and navigating through enforcement issues and litigation, having represented clients in over 30 first-chair jury trials.
Mr. Ervin is involved in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the boards of St. Stephen’s Community House, The Foundation Fighting Blindness and the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority. He is also on the Executive Committee of the Franklin County Republican Party. Mr. Ervin is rated as an AV® Preeminent™ attorney by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, having received the highest accolades of his peers in the legal profession. He earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio, and his B.A. from The University of Arizona.
