HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL AND CTO FORUM LAUNCH NEW EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM: RETHINK STRATEGY

The RETHINK Strategy program's mission is to identify, examine and overcome the challenges that senior leaders face in developing and leading organizations and maintaining competitive edge.

Harvard Business School (HBS) Executive Education and CTO Forum have announced the launch of a custom executive education program, RETHINK Strategy: Strategic Leadership of Technology and Innovation. The program is focused on overcoming the challenges faced by Fortune 500 senior executives and assisting them in maintaining a competitive edge. The program will be held at the HBS campus in Boston from May 12 through May 15, 2015. Registration is open at www.ctoforum.org.

"Fewer than 10 percent of today’s Fortune 500 companies are generating double-digit growth. We now know that incremental advances are no longer enough and only brilliant innovation can propel an organization to the forefront of an industry," said Basheer Janjua, founding chair and president of the CTO Forum. "This program aims at identifying, examining, and overcoming challenges that senior executives face in fostering a culture of smart innovation, corporate renewal, and systematic growth."

"The development of the RETHINK Strategy program has been a rewarding collaboration between Harvard Business School and CTO Forum,” said Jerry Coffey, Managing Director of HBS Custom Executive Education Programs. “The curriculum is uniquely tailored for executives tasked with delivering value through technology and participants will leave with a refreshed perspective, new strategic approaches and a valuable peer network that extends well beyond the conclusion of the program.”

RETHINK Strategy provides an excellent opportunity for senior leaders to learn how to embrace challenges, see opportunities and frame the big picture. This must-attend event features Harvard Business School’s world-class faculty members and the participation of distinguished top-tier executives focused on the challenges at the intersection of technology, business, and society.

"The challenge companies often encounter when faced with potentially innovative solutions is successfully implementing those innovations across an organization," said Stefan Thomke, the William Barclay Harding Professor of Business Administration at HBS, and an authority on the management of innovation. "The RETHINK Strategy program teaches technology and business leaders how to foster innovation within a company, then pair those big ideas with effective operational execution."

HBS Executive Education has developed over 60 custom programs, working closely with organizations to tailor curricula fit for their specific objectives. Courses are led by core HBS faculty and rooted in the case study method, which provides real-world business insights and engages executives in a collaborative process of identifying issues and applying lessons to their own organizations. While on campus, executives live and work together in learning groups. These groups are a crucial part of the executive education experience, allowing for continuous interaction between participants and faculty in an environment entirely devoted to professional development.
